[Ma...]
I've added a new article, an excerpt from the Calypso Handbook, on point recall with LOOP. This will create a wall thickness 360° around the part top and bottom 8 points each. [Ri...]
Great writeup. Wouldn't this also just work with a pattern as well?
[Ma...]
I can not try it, but it seems legit. If i am understanding it, then you create loop for Polar distance characteristic. Only problem is that, you can not use scan to obtain points, only by single points ( with scan you cannot guarantee that points will be opposing each other. For pattern - perhaps with some play with loops it can be used, but it must by tried.
[Ri...]
If you want to scan and do wall thickness, use Curve, and then the Curve Distance tool. It even gives you a nice form plot. 🙂
[Ma...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Yes, but I wanted to showcase the LOOP function.
[Ro...]
I have a question on this. Do I have to go a full 360° to have this work. I have a part with a large rad, but it is only about 1.500 long. I have a slot in the center that has to be on center with both the OD and ID of the part and it is called out as a wall thickness, both sides. Will this work with 5-10 degrees of arc? Thanks. [Ma...]
Please sign in to view this quote. No problem. You have to make final characteristic as LOOP - so you have to make loop length as number of points on cylinder/circle. If you keep same number of points and it's angle same on both features, then you will get thickness.
