Rotary Table Speed

I guess I'm a little out of practice on rotary table use.
I only use our portable non-air bearing rotary table a few times a year and mostly for gears.
Trying to check the lead on this fine pitch Ball-screw and no matter what scanning speed I set the feature to, that rotary table isn't going to spin any faster.
Correct?
I do not have the VAST rotary table axis option.

Correct, I believe it has one set speed.

With an RT-AB this may function more as desired per your strategy setting, etc.

with our old RT-01's I've seen weird cases where the R/T measures/rotates at like double speed. It seems to happen randomly and get stuck there for a period of time, at least 1 program, and at some point goes back to normal. Zeiss guys Ive asked have not been able to explain it. It is actually good though and measures at the speed I would like. Wish I could find out what triggers it,

🙂

We still have a couple machines with RT-05 tables. They are set for maximum scanning speed of approximately 1 RPM or 6 degrees per second. You can command them to go faster than that but they won't go any faster. As a rule of thumb we scan at 10% of the diameter / second (circumferentially). Commanding them any faster just reduces the maximum point density without any time saving. I think the RT-01 tables may scan a bit faster.
