[Mo...] Posted June 5 Share Posted June 5 Regarding Bevel gear: How do you consider a circular backlash at your nominal coordinate list (Solldaten /txt.)? I have got a bevel gear which shall have 0,25mm circular backlash at mounting distance. Nominal cooridinate list had been done externaly without condindering a backlash. Which possibilties exist to update coordinate list (Solldaten/ txt.) for this topic? Does changing the Zahndickenwinkel / tooth thickness angle make sense? Would it also be possible to adjust the mounting distance with an mounting distance offset? I am looking forward for some helpful comments and shared experience. Thank you in advance. [Ma...] Posted June 5 Share Posted June 5 No single gear has backlash. Backlash only exists when meshed with a mating member. The nominal difference angle (tooth thickness angle) represents a tooth thickness of zero for bevel gears. This may be edited to increase (larger absolute angle) or decrease (smaller absolute angle) the nominal tooth thickness. The mounting distance may also be increased or decreased to simulate mounting the gear at a different location affecting both the tooth thickness and flank form deviations. I did not describe my concern properly, sorry for that... of course the backlash is as bevel gear couple only, not for a single gear. I am trying to find ideal Solldaten/Nominal data for the single gears to detect possible backlash issues without conducting a Tragbildprüfung/contact pattern test. Thus only single gears with noticable deviations in single measuring will be put into contact pattern test and backlash measuring with mating master. Well, this is my goal.
