[Za...]
When trying to open a .step file on our offline seat, I get the following error message: "CADInterop not found! CADInterop is part of the CALYPSO installation required to support third-party formats in CALYPSO." We updated Calypso to the latest version a couple of weeks ago, but this problem just started today. Any advice?
[Ke...]
https://portal.zeiss.com/knowledge-base?id=2496572 Here is an article detailing a fix for this error, if this does not resolve the issue please contact our Hotline to open a ticket (1-800-327-9735/cic.metrology.us@zeiss.com, please have your serial number handy) and they should be able to provide an additional fix
[Za...]
Thank you! This did fix it. Why is this a separate thing now, I wonder? It seems so integral to the operation of Calypso in the first place.
[Ke...]
I don't believe it is intended to need to be a separate thing, it is meant to install automatically when you install Calypso but for whatever reason (wayyy beyond my software dev and programming knowledge) it sometimes doesn't and has to be installed manually. I know it has been reported up the chain, so my guess is a fix either is already implemented or is in the works.

[Ab...]
In certain newer versions of CALYPSO, noted first in CALYPSO 7.6.12 (2023 service pack 3), an additional prerequisite for CALYPSO has been added. This is the ZEISS.IMT.CAD.Interop.Server, which can be seen in the control panel in Windows. This program is now necessary for importation and conversion of 3rd party CAD files into CALYPSO for use in programming. It has, however, been observed to sometimes not be installed with the software when updating. The purpose of this document is to describe the symptoms of this and to show how to resolve the error. The symptom that will most often be observed is an error message when trying to import a CAD model. It should be noted that this will not occur when trying to import CAD formats native to ACIS, specifically either SAT or SAB formats. This is because the interop server software is only necessary to convert 3rd party CAD formats such as STEP, IGS or any of the CAD converters CALYPSO provides. The most common reason for the error is that the CAD interop server is not installed on the computer. The user can check this in the control panel under “Programs”. ZEISS.IMT.CAD.Interop.Server program is not found some where in the program list, it must then be installed. As of the writing of this document, the installation file for the CAD interop server is found in the installation files for the service packs it was introduced in. Specifically for CALYPSO 7.6.12, there is a path in the installation media labeled “CALYPSO_2023_SP761200_Setup/ISSetupPrerequisites/ ZeissCADInteropServer/”. In here is the ZeissCADInteropServerSetup.msi that can be used to install the file. This file may require elevated privileges to install if not already available in the user, so it is best for the user to work with their IT to make sure it is installed properly. As newer versions of CALYPSO are released, the CAD interop server program will likely be stored in the base version of those versions in the ISSetupPrerequisites folder, as with other CALYPSO prerequisites.
