[I...]
In new GD&T Library, I found that there are several outer tangent plane setting options. After reading the chapters related to mathematical datum simulators in ASME Y14.5.1, I used some point data for testing, are the following correspondences correct? original (not GDT Engine) - Outer tangential feature = constrained L1 minimization 2023 GDT Engine (ASME) - Outer tangential feature = constrained min-max 2023 GDT Engine (ISO) - Default (Outer Tangential) = constrained min-max - Gaussian - ShiftedOutside = Progressed least squares - Chebyshev - Outside = constrained min-max - Chebyshev - Shifted outside = constrained min-max Among them, if the original (not GDT Engine) is indeed constrained L1, when there is more than one solution, is all the solutions averaged as the only result? I know this 2023 version Library is only for testing, I want to know whether the algorithm for these outer tangent planes will be changed or added (ex. constrained least square) in future versions. In addition, is there any setting in the software that can correspond to the "external envelope" in the ASME Y14.5.1? Thanks.
