[Zo...]
lately we are adding many automation cells in our company, this cells are all caged off. CMM is inside the cage and PC outside. I have to constantly bring the controller over the wall in and out of cell. I heard that Zeiss now have wireless panels that are battery powered with a docking station and can be installed on bridge type machines, Micura, Prismo, etc. sounds like they have been available for gantry type CMM, but now also available with smaller machines. I wonder if anyone has heard about this or has any experience, pros and cons?
[No...]
No personal experience, but there's a PDF manual for the wireless control box with pictures and all kinds of handling instructions. It was available on the old metrology academy platform, but since they switched to the new forum and portal, all PDF manuals are gone. It may still reside on some customer documentation CD that was shipped with new machines in the past or maybe somebody around here still has a copy. [He...]
We have wireless control panels on some of our new machines. It works the same as the wired one. No issues that i have heard of unless you forget to charge it over night.
[Da...]
I have one on a recent Contura. It is nice, and came with 2 batteries and an external charger. The biggest issue I have had is that the docking station doesn't always align well if you are not careful. That leads to the control panel not charging. In addition, it appears that the panel will not charge if the machine is off.

[Ri...]
Only issue I have found, is the battery door. It breaks easily. Don't ask how it breaks, just know it breaks easily. 🤠
[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Maybe in the same way our wired panel lost one of its (screwed on!) rubber feet when "nobody" dropped it? 😃
[Ri...]
I've used them, make sure you have a minimum of two batteries in case you forget to place it on the charging dock. It was convenient without the chord, not sure about the cost difference.
[Je...]
It is "rumored" that someone once upon a time may have successfully interfaced one of these with a cmm wirelessly, but it is purely theoretical.
[Ri...]
Zeiss should do that; it would be far better than the giant blue box.
[Ya...]
Basic Playstation/Xbox Controller Support would be awesome. I know some Users who would benefit.. "the controller is too big i want to hold it.."
[Br...]
The wireless boxes work really well. You just need to keep them on the docking station so you dont forgetto charge. If the charge runs out, your machine drives will shut off.
