[Vi...]
Hello, I'm running calypso 2023 with a contura. I'm wondering how to do the profile of this part. I have the datums marked. I have created a free form surface and did the profile off of that. My bosses are not trusting the data. What would be the right way to get the profile?Capture.PNG
[Ma...]
If you did s drawing says, then you did right. If it's profile without datums, then only untrusty would be model 🤣

[Ro...]
One way to do an "Overall Profile" for a part like this would be to take several circles/Cylinders/cones all over the part. Then open a new Free Form surface feature and in the center area under Nominal Definition click on "recall feature points" and select everything you want to group together. Then, since this is theoretical feature make sure the "surfaces used" box is empty. Now you can use that feature in a surface profile.
[Ni...]
3 months into using Calypso, I've been looking for the answer to deal with the drawing call out for undefined dimensions profile of ........ Does this mean I need to probe every feature and recall it into a free form? My understanding of the above responses seems to point that way. Take all features and recall in free form? [Ma...]
You can create FF and make strategy there - mostly it would be point set. You can generate path by clicking on part, use 4 points for point grid or selecting face for point grid. I am dealing with curvy models most of a time, so i am using curves for that. [list=1] Create raw curve by clicking on model Create new curve and use raw curve line on model to create correct nominals on curvy models Whenever you create curve by clicking on model you can have path within model. Thats why i use first curve to get path. It will generate nominals on face of a model with correct point density.
