[Do...]
Hi all, I am looking for a way to have Calypso export a truncated report to Excel. Long story short, we have always sent a final CMM report with each part to this particular customer. We've made some adjustments to our process internally that have now combined our in-process and final CMM checks into one program. Problem is, I can't figure out how to get Calypso to generate an Excel report with only the features I need, while still measuring the whole part in the process. I was thinking there must be a way to do this with masking/marking, but every combination I try I end up with the same report (running it offline that is). Am I missing something, or will I need to run a live part to test the settings properly? The program has a fairly long run time now, so I'd hate to tie up a machine trying to troubleshoot, but it is what it is if that's the case. Alternatively, would it be possible to generate two Excel reports? One full and one truncated? I presume one would run into the same scenario of masking/marking characteristics. Can anyone confirm? Thanks!
[Ju...]
So you've tried working with Multiple Printouts?
[Do...]
I've tried to mess around with the settings in there, but they seem to only affect PiWeb or Zeiss templates. I didn't see anything pertaining to Excel explicitly. Should the settings here apply to all generated reports?
[Ri...]
What benefit is there to using Excel reports versus just having a separate PiWeb Report for only the Characteristics you want shown? The latter is easily done with the Mark Characteristics function.
[Do...]
We were able to write a VBA macro within Excel to create a secondary truncated report with the values we needed. In doing so, we were able to maintain the standard report format that the customer is used to as opposed to having to re-create the template within PiWeb (which would have taken me some time to figure out since I've not played around with it). Appreciate the replies!
