Is it possible to send a Calypso program to DMIS for someone to use as a PC-DMIS program on a Hexagon CMM? We have a customer that is getting a Hexagon and would like to be able to use our Zeiss program on the parts. If this is possible, do I have to buy a license to export to DMIS? What are the steps to get Calypso to export to DMIS?

Hi Jimmy,

There is an option to save to native DMIS, but not PC-DMIS. I would recommend reaching out to Hexagon for options on importing CALYPSO programs into PC-DMIS.

We do, thought, have an option to import PC-DMIS programs into CALYPSO, if you're interested in going that direction, that is an option for CALYPSO. You just need a license and both PC-DMIS and CALYPSO installed on the computer to use it.

Thanks!
Caitlin

Hi Jimmy - Yes, you would need a license to export to DMIS, I would recommend reaching out to your aftermarket rep for a quote or more information, if you're unsure of who that is, call in and the Customer Interaction Center can direct you to the correct person (the number for the US is 800-327-9735).

Thanks!

Yup,
Caitlin is 100% correct. There are 2 Output Modules for DMIS .

Calypso out DMIS
Calypso Protocol out DMIS

You will want a quote for the first one. The second will output your data in dmis format and thats not what want,

Don't you also have to have a licensed PCDMIS installed on the same PC?
I recall something about this, most likely a post on this forum discussing it.

PDMIS to Calypso convert does require both software's to be on the same PC.

Calypso DMIS OUPUT does not.

There is a software called Origin that was going to let me convert from Calypso to Modus.
I believe it should also let you convert to DMIS since modus is more obscure I think.

Check it out. It is $12,000 though.
