[Ca...]
I've got to say, when saving results to file, Calypso's default of 50 files maximum, leaves me speechless. Why would you ever need to limit the number of files you've saved? Context: I've been running parts in Autorun for 6 days, and just noticed that I only have reports for the last 50 parts. Most of our programs are Frozen Process, so I can't update the file limit on the original program, and it'll carry over into Autorun. *Deep breath* Rant over... [Ma...]
I am using robocopy to keep saved points elsewhere as backup ( automotive )
[Ke...]
Will it allow you to create a folder in the file; ...or create archive folders for individual programs elsewhere.? If so, you can do a quick cut & paste into an "archive" folder (maybe at the end of a shift or the end of the day(?)
[Ch...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Robocopy is the way to go. Let me know if you need any help with the script. I won't be as good as GPT, but I can get you going.
[Ca...]
Thanks for the support, and I've calmed down now. But, workaround systems aside, what IS the point of limiting output files to a number? Is this left over from 1996, when hard drive space was precious?
[Ja...]
I used to have mine set to something like 9999 because that's what I was taught. I changed it to 50 because it would take for ever to load measured points if there was too many in there.
[Ch...]
One option that I personally prefer to use is a "Template/Start Program". What I mean by this is instead of starting new programs from scratch using the "Create New Measurement Plan" option I have a program that I have setup all outputs, limits, graphics, save/load default settings, etc. in and saved before loading any part specific information. I always start creating programs from this saved program file and simply do a "Save As..." instead of beginning from scratch with CALYPSO's default every time. Doesn't necessarily answer your question but I think it saves me a few clicks. Maybe you will like this method too.
