[Cl...]
ISO 10664 applied specifically to a hexalobe driver. (T30). I found a chart on-line, but the diameters (Major/Minor) for the size I have aren't listed. Is anyone familiar with this ISO spec (apparently also ASTM F116) and what the tolerance would be? (Major Ø .215 / Minor Ø .152). My first thought was that they want the hex evaluated for line or surface profile. But nothing is clear on the drawing other than referencing this spec. [Ri...]
https://willrich.com/wp-content/uploads ... 10664_.pdf The spec specifically talks about go/no-go gages. You could do a surface profile if you wanted though.
[Cl...]
For socket #30 (assuming that means T30?) The attached chart has A & B (Major/Minor as 5,543 5,557 respectively). My major Ø is 5.45 and the minor Ø is .152. So that's no help to me. Am I interpreting the chart correctly?
[Ev...]
This is from ISO10664:2005. Also, i'm assuming there is a note on your drawing that says something like "T30 Driver designed to interface with female hexalobe feature per ISO10664". I believe ISO10664 specifically applies to female (internal) hexalobes. ASTM F116 does have a section regarding hexalobe dimensions, see below. Lastly ASTM F116 included this in the Appendix - Also, I was just in GR last weekend (mostly Kzoo), cool area.
[Cl...]
Thank you Evan. The last part of your attachment matches my print exactly. Though it still doesn't give me a ± tolerance.
[Da...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Clarke, I think the tolerance would be the same, which translates to about ± 0.0003".
[Cl...]
Please sign in to view this quote. "I think the tolerance would be the same" The same as what? What am I missing? Where does it say ± 0.0003"?
[Da...]
Clarke, Go back and look at the chart that Richard Shoemaker posted. On page 6 is table 3 that gives maximum and minimum sizes. I know that these are for the GO gage, but it should be the same for the driver.
