Inside the box is a note stating ATTENTION: Before using this device at the Zeiss-3D-Coordinate-Measureing Machine, you must update the CMM-controller via the "DeviceActivator". [Ke...] Posted February 20 Share Posted February 20 From time to time more information is added to the id string of the adapter plate, to improve information and functionality. Without running device activator to update the relevant files, your system may not know how to read the additional information of the plate, leading to errors (the cmm still reads some information, even if idchip recognition is turned off). It is not always necessary, but the notification is included with all adapter plates, and is a quick easy process that is good practice to go ahead and do. It should only be necessary if the new adapter plate has information that your cmm does not have the files to read (so if you ran device activator last month, you shouldn't have to do so again unless Zeiss updated the information between then and when your adapter plate was manufactured) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
