[An...]
We use Calypso on our Zeiss Bridge CMMs but we also have romer/hexagon and faro arms with both tactile and laser scanning capabilities. Can these interact with Calypso in anyway?
[Ro...]
I'm not the authority on all things Zeiss, but I'm going to say no.
[Jo...]
I used Calypso on a Faro Arm a few years ago at another job. It is possible. Although I'm not sure how they loaded it.
[Ke...]
The answer is “maybe”. There was an interface made for Non-Zeiss Devices that allowed calypso to be used with a variety of different manufacturers measuring equipment. Regarding Faro and Romer arms, it would depend on the model and accessories (I believe when I looked into this awhile back the laser scanning heads were not compatible). It would also depend if Zeiss still offers the interface, which I am not sure of.
[Je...]
This can certainly be accomplished for a wide array of metrology equipment. Up to CALYPSO 2023 there is an interface called NZDI (Non-ZEISS Device Interace) that allows use of things like Faro, Romer, Laser, etc to connect to CALYPSO. [Br...]
This is very do-able. You will need a license to do this (Talk to your Zeiss Salesperson as i dont know the cost).
[An...]
Thanks for the info! I will play around with this
[Jo...]
Zeiss, when you get that licence... sorry, I couldn't resist.
[Jo...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I always assumed that would be like trying to play Super Mario on a Sega Genesis; like they want to make sure their software would only run on one of their own ZEISS machines. Looks like I was wrong though.
