We use Calypso on our Zeiss Bridge CMMs but we also have romer/hexagon and faro arms with both tactile and laser scanning capabilities. Can these interact with Calypso in anyway?

I used Calypso on a Faro Arm a few years ago at another job. It is possible. Although I'm not sure how they loaded it.

The answer is “maybe”. There was an interface made for Non-Zeiss Devices that allowed calypso to be used with a variety of different manufacturers measuring equipment. Regarding Faro and Romer arms, it would depend on the model and accessories (I believe when I looked into this awhile back the laser scanning heads were not compatible). It would also depend if Zeiss still offers the interface, which I am not sure of.

This can certainly be accomplished for a wide array of metrology equipment. Up to CALYPSO 2023 there is an interface called NZDI (Non-ZEISS Device Interace) that allows use of things like Faro, Romer, Laser, etc to connect to CALYPSO. Would you like to speak with your RSM to review application?

This is very do-able. You will need a license to do this (Talk to your Zeiss Salesperson as i dont know the cost).

I always assumed that would be like trying to play Super Mario on a Sega Genesis; like they want to make sure their software would only run on one of their own ZEISS machines. Looks like I was wrong though.
