[Jo...]
I've had a few times recently where I create a true postition and use a group of holes (sometimes cylinders, sometimes threaded holes) as a pattern when it is called out on the print as such. I lock and release degrees of freedom as needed. PiWeb spits out a report saying that all of the holes have the same location, out six decimal places. When everything seems "too good" I obviously will revert back to the idiom of "if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is", I start questioning why. If I apply a TP to each hole individually I get different results for each, even though a print calls it out as a pattern. Example being: 3X Ø5.0mm with a true position of 0.1mm. In my PiWeb report I've had a few times where all three would show up as the same number and the true position of that pattern would be that as well. I think there is a gap in my knowledge about true positions of hole patterns in Calypso. My default for patterns is "View Tolerance (with MMC/LMC for references)" but I've seen it on both that and Gauss. I've checked my restrictions for DoF, so I don't think it's that either. Anyone have better knowledge on this topic?
[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. The Rotation and/or Translation option is only when you do not have a fully constrained DRF, regardless of MMB option. Meaning, you have to understand your DRF with regards to what DoF's are being controlled.
