[Me...]
Hello all, I hope everbody can help me on the subject 2 Point Diameter characteristic . The calculation modes are (LP) Two point distance dimension and E) Envelope condition. I understand the mode (LP) The result are two distances, the smallest and the largest point distance. My problem is the mode E) Envelope condition. Two results from ZEISS for a boring and two results for a shaft. !! Why ? From the operating instructions: "With an outside feature, the circumscribed feature is evaluated and with an inside feature the inscribed feature. For each point of each scanning path, the symmetrical point is determined. The two point distances are used to determine the smallest distance (A) for a circumscribed feature and the largest distance (B) for an inscribed feature. The corresponding points are assigned to them." It means one result and not two for a boring and also for a shaft or ?
[Da...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Hi, Calypso is doing it right. It is always min and max for LP, for both shafts and bores. The calculation is not 100% by the standards, but that's another topic. And I imagine this would be very hard to implement. Check other measurement software, nowhere is done 100% correct. [Ma...]
Calypso correctly gives two results for each of these: "LP" result = min and max 2 point diameter "E" result = outer tangential diameter for maximum material size, 2 point diameter for minimum material size
[Sc...]
FYI. Original posted back 2021. The "Angle" on my report....is that the angle shown on blue and red arrow for angle position? Feature is a circle.2 PT diameter.docx
