[Li...]
Windows 7 computer running Calypso 5.6 The C drive was 117GB and now has 114GB of data/info. The D drive is 465GB and has 420GB of free space. Not sure how to ask this but, How do I get Calypso to run from D instead of C? I know this is possible. I've seen this done years ago at a previous job. We bought a workstation from Zeiss. When IT got it up and running they saw that the C drive was already darn near full. We contacted tech support and they switched something so Calypso worked from D. It could have been that it operated from C, but the programs and all data were on D. I cant remember. This was probably 6-7 yrs ago. IT worked the issue with tech support logged in remotely. I was just an observer. Last summer we ran into an issue where this same computer got so full that Calypso stopped working. Lost info/data that resulted in no stylus systems and lost ref sphere data. Couldn't even qualify Master Probe. Additionally all the programs and data pulls and gets sent to a network drive. I don't know what is taking so much space on C drive. Thanks and any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Lincoln
[Me...]
I had the same issue. Once I moved the important folders to the server it took care of that. Those included inspection, basesystems, cad, results. There's probably a few more but I can't think of them now. Redirected Calypso to get everything from those folders. Check your temp files. Have I.T. run defrag. Do a cleanup.
[Ch...]
I highly recommend you use a program called "WinDirStat". It displays the size of all your directories and has a really nice GUI so you can easily find which folders are your biggest data hoarders. [Ri...]
Storage space is cheap these days. Just purchase a 2TB SSD. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08QB93S6R If your motherboard has PCI Gen 4 NVME support then get one of these. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08RK2SR23/

Can be done > Extras > Environment > paths There you can switch inspection plans and data to D: drive Best regards Sven
[Me...]
I'm in the same boat but with Calypso 2020(7.0).At first (using Calypso 6.6 & 6.8) I moved my "C:Users/Public/Documents/Zeiss" folder to my D: Drive and that worked great, the software was still on the C: drive. When I went to install Calypso 7.0, I wanted to install all Calypso related files onto the D: drive and this is where things went south. The issue presented was a file path error. normally this is easy to fix, however even with administrative rights, I was unable to change the file path referencing to the "program files" folder. Even working with IS/IT, we eventually had to call Zeiss. Zeiss looked into the issue and at first believed that it should be possible to relocate Calypso to our D: drive but upon further digging, they found this was blocked by Zeiss engineers. The reason being is that Zeiss doesn't want Calypso to be store on an external drive and exchanged between machines. So if your running an older version, you may possibly be able to install Calypso onto your D: Drive, but proceed with caution. hopefully they didn't put the lock in a service pack. Now in my case, I have figured out how to revert programs safely to an older version so this wasn't a huge issue but definitely a time consuming one. [Li...]
Thanks for all the feedback. IT did take a look at the C drive and might have found some stuff taking up room. Not sure what all Calypso needs to run outside of the software. On this C drive there are no CMM programs or inspection data. Everything is on a network drive. This is an older version of Calypso [5.6] When IT freed up space before they got rid of old login profiles not in use anymore and that worked. I'm hoping that they can figure out what is taking up so much room. Is it safe to say that anything that is require/related to Calypso for it to operate properly is contained in "Users/Public.....? Are there files and such outside of this?

To Richards point, if you and IT have spent this much time looking at it, then you guys have already spent more on employee time than the cost of a larger hard drive. [Er...]
Search for... windows program graph disk storage The are plenty of programs that will easily show what you need to know. And if that is an SSD it may have "worn out" some of it's capacity.
[Ja...]
Hey, just posting this here because I recently came across the exact same issue and maybe this will help others in the future. A Zeiss tech sent me this info, some of which I had already performed and the rest I am waiting for my IT to go through so if something goes sideways it wasn't me that did it! I am hoping we can just migrate everything from the C:Drive to the D:Drive which has substantially more space on it and we wouldn't have to worry about this issue ever again. Update: It was an indexing error, our IT followed the attached instructions and freed up about 150GB of space and we are back up and running.CALYPSO - PC Disk Space Full (1).DOCX
[Je...]
There is an article on the ZEISS PORTAL KNOWLEDGE BASE for this specific scenario.
[Ro...]
After a lot of searching and still no solution I stumbled on this. Performing the Windows Indexing took my space from 193gb used to 75gb used. This was a huge help. Thanks a lot!

[Je...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Using the "Name for Output Files" and sending all results and idmeaspoints to a storage drive is a great process. I advise a local drive but network drives are used often with mostly reliable results. Network connectivity issues are a known cause of errors during reporting so be aware of that (it will look like a CALYPSO error but its actually a file access issue).
