Position of printing

Have you ever seen something like this? It's the position of a logo printed on a part.
The form of the letters/numbers is not important, only the position of the enclosing rectangle.
However, the logo shown here is fictional, so don't rely on any intersection points, radii or something.

How would you go about measuring this in a simple fashion (no curve overkill etc.)?
It's clear I need the O-Inspect or another optical device. But which elements would I measure?

We get away with stuff like this by simply using a caliper to verify it's in then reporting "Acceptable" to the customer. It's very subjective but in reality that's how they are going to measure it if they even bother.

Thankfully most of our newer drawings simply note a zone for marking with no GD&T attached.

Our problems are more to do with quality of the printing/marking, but thankfully that's not my issue to deal with.

We do almost the same (and always did). It's not that I'm eager to change my measurement method, but since the ISO GPS hype has broken loose in my company some years ago I see more and more tolerances like this. It's as if the designers think they're not allowed to use 'normal' dimensions anymore.
So I thought I better start thinking about a way to measure this. I have a hard time even understanding what it means in relation to an enclosing rectangle.

Sounds like a decent plan.
I will try that next time.
What still bothers me a bit is that this kind of tolerance doesn't take into account any rotational or size deviations. But hey that's not my problem. 😎
