[Ju...] Posted July 15, 2021 Share Posted July 15, 2021 To make my workday more entertaining, I like to have the probing object visible and mentally trace different patterns on the parts I'm checking. For example, while measuring circular parts/features, I internally picture a clock on the part and count off the different probe positions as time. (One o'clock, one thirty, two o'clock, etc.) For other parts, I divide the features into sections and count out the fractions remaining. (Start, 5/6, three quarters, half, 1/3, etc.) Just curious if anyone has any mental strategies they commonly use to overcome monotony and make checking parts more interesting. Singing the ABC's at 75 beats per minute takes about 20 seconds (I internally hear a chorus of children singing it to get the right tempo). This can further be divided into 5 second increments (A..., L..., W..., A...). For example, for 15 seconds, start with the letter L and sing to the end. For 10 seconds, start with W. A Zeiss tech showed me how to change the probing contact sound, so instead of a BEEP, I can change it to Michael Jackson's HEE HEE or the Super Mario Bro.'s coin sound BAHDING. Sometimes when I'm in here by myself, I have one CMM doing HEE HEE, the other doing BAHDING, and I play bebop jazz on YouTube in the background. [Ju...] Posted February 27, 2023 Author Share Posted February 27, 2023 On the table I run, the sound file folder is located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Zeiss\CALYPSO 6.4\sounds Simply replace the probe.wav file with the desired .wav sound file and rename it to probe.wav. I edit the standard probe sound file name to include a 1 at the end (probe1.wav), so I can easily revert back to it when I need to. I have: probeM.wav (Mario coin sound) probeH.wav (Michael Jackson HEE HEE) probeY.wav (Lil John saying YAAYUHH) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
