Part alignment vs physical orientation

How can I align a part in a specific orientation for measurement while maintaining alignment that matches the features as per the drawing?

According to the drawingthe part should be oriented so that the slot is 45 degrees nominal from hole pattern.
With the current orientation of the part, the slot is facing downward so the value when using angle between features is 0 degrees nominal. I need this value to read as the print suggests. 6341_eb429cb727c793532c43890904394910.png

Have you rotated the 45 deg. (in the base alignment window, then special to input the rotation?)

I created an alignment from resources > utilities. Then i did just that and used the same datums with a simple rotation. How do I get the result to show the 45 angle using this alignment I created but still measure from the base alignment?

Some characteristics may allow you to set the datum structure independent of the feature (true position for example), but if the characteristic you are looking to report does not, then what you would want to do is to have the original, measured, feature in base alignment, then recall that feature into an identical copy that is set to the rotated alignment. Use the recalled feature for your characteristics where needed
