can't change nominals?

Good Morning,

I just started getting this message today out of nowhere. It happens every time i change the nominals. It won't let me change the nominals in the characteristic tab. It reverts it back to what it should be from the cad.
Never had this issue before but now it is happening.

Anyone know how to get rid of it?

Changing the nominals in the characteristic tab also changes it from the nominal in the features tab.
That has never happened before.
Before the nominals in the features tab would stay the same regardless of what i put in the characteristics tab.

So, when you go to Resources and select Characteristic settings editor and then choose the "Nominal Mode", you should be able to select "input in Characteristic". IF that doesn't fix it, what version of Calypso are you running?

It was set to Automatically from nom. geometry.
I don't know why that option was selected. But i switched it to input in characteristic and it worked fine

I learned a long time ago, that using "Automatically from nom. geometry" helps in learning to program to exact geometry (Typically I program to 8 decimal places).
If you create features with exact geometry, you should rarely have to correct a characteristics value.
When I use Alignments in characteristics that differ from the feature alignment the calculation should be exact when selecting another alignment. However, there have been occasions that a calculation wasn't exact and typically its due to dimension stack up of skewed numbers from a drafter.
Programs with exact geometry are easier to evaluate when things don't go as planned compared to programs with "Some users geometry that is close enough".

After 26 years, I just program to exact geometry without that setting enabled, it's become an OCD thing. 🧑‍💻

im currently working at a place where there are no cad models and they're built by others. So working from nom geometry is probably the worst thing because the nominals on the cad is different than the nominal on the print.

Nominals can be calculated either from a model or from the B/P.
