[Pe...]
How does one add the third profile requirement to a freeform surface?
[Ma...]
Not seen this yet, but can you make cylinder with this diameter at same place as FFS and recalled mesured points and report surface profile on cylinder. Perhaps this was meant? As I said - not seen this yet. And rest from drawing would help too - more clues.
[Cl...]
I'm assuming the feature in question is a cylinder? The third tier is form only, of the called out diameter.
[Pe...]
Please sign in to view this quote. The feature is a surface approximately 6x6 inches. It has some curvature - it extracts as a cone at least with approximately a 200 inch diameter across the middle of it. This is an updated print of an old part. It seems they were trying to replicate the original inspection spec they had that had three steps: There was 30-something points lists with X and Y coordinates. 1) Each point was supposed to be Z±.004 from a mounting face. (Became profile .008 ABD) 2) Each point should be Z±.0015 from the center point. (Became profile .003 A) 3) Each point should be Z±.0005 from the adjacent points. (Became profile .001/Ø1.0) So makes sense what they are trying to do. But as far as I can tell that's not a valid GDT callout. And I have no idea how to get it into calypso. According to our engineer, customer states that they are able to measure it like that, but they also use PCDMIS so maybe they are.

Honestly sometimes it's better to correlate to whatever the customer is doing rather than being 100% correct.
[Ma...]
I am too curious to know that. It seems to be similar to flatness with ref. length/size - not sure if this is possible. There is something for curve in newer versions of Calypso
