Robot Loaded Measurements

I'm really interested in hearing about robot loading DuraMax CMMs on a shop floor in a high volume machining environment. I know there is that whole FACS system meant for this, I'm not asking about the technical requirements, I'm asking about stuff that's not in sales documents.

The places we might use it deal largely with diameters that change frequently but quite tight tolerances. (55mm bore, with a 15 Micron total size tolerance in a turning operation) so cleanliness is paramount and I'm not seeing an easy solution to making sure the part is clean enough.

-What kind of tolerances are you dealing with?
-How is part cleanliness being handled?
-How is part temperature being handled?
-Are you feeding adjustment data back to the CNC machine(s)?
-is it worth it vs having operators run the CMMs?

Have you been to the ZEISS QEC in Wixom, MI? We have this exact setup on the demo floor. Robot loaded Duramax from an indexed catalog of fixtures of various components. Email me directly and I can arrange one of our automation specialists contact you to discuss application and options.

Through FACs all things are possible but for most users, CBA is sufficient and much more user-friendly (and cheaper).
