Position Datum References

Hi,

When a drawing calls out a position to only one or two Datums, do all of the Datum References need to be filled in (Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Datum)? I was told that all boxes need to be filled in, then I was told by someone else that only the Primary or Primary and Secondary Datums need to be filled in. I'm thinking it depends on the circumstances, but I was never told what those are.

Can I please have some clarification on this?

You only fill in the ones that are needed to comply with the drawing.

I wonder if somebody was confused with Profile, as without Curve/Freeform Profile requires all datums to be filled out, generally with the toleranced feature filling in the spaces for the missing datums as a workaround.

Oh okay, I see. I think it was a profile callout, now that you mention it. So, if you use Curve/Freeform profiles, you don't need to fill in all the Datums?
