[Ro...]
Any of you have luck changing the origin of a STEP or SLDPRT file in solidworks, so when it loads into Calypso it does not need to be transformed? I've looked all over and have watched several youtube videos on the subject, but nothing really.works for me. Of the last 100 cad models i've imported, i'll bet not more than 2 have needed no transformation, and one customers cad files always come in 400+ inches off in X and Y, which leads me to believe they are zeroed off an assembly origin. [Ed...]
I like to use the move/copy command to move the part to my desired alignment. Using the Constraints options allows you to mate the part with the origin and default planes.
[Ma...]
Or you can use coordinate system in SW and when you are saving as ACIS ( and other format ) click on customize ( or settings ) and on bottom of a dialog is combobox for coordinate systems ( alignments ). Much better then moving model/s https://help.solidworks.com/2019/englis ... system.htm
[Ma...]
Roberto, I use 3D organization to create a new coordinate system like this from the drawing. Then I save this as ACIS.sat with the option: coordinate system 23..2023-11-23_15h18_46.png
