[Ri...]
I am trying to determine the best filter method for Honed surfaces to minimize Plateau peaks in the data. Attached is an image showing a filter using Gaussian and what ISO calls, Robust. What is the Calypso equivalent of Robust?Gaussian vs Robust filters.PNG
[Ch...]
A good rule of thumb I use is Gauss for closed loops like circles and Spline for open loops like surfaces or well, splines. So, Spline might work better for you here.
[Ma...]
I think L1 is what you are looking for. Please sign in to view this quote. Edit: Found on WIKI ISO 16610-31: Robust profile filters: Gaussian regression filters (published in 2016) - Calypso 2018 have only ISO 16610-21/28 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_16610
[Ke...]
Please sign in to view this quote. It appears you are looking at Surface Finish (pretty sure that is from one of Mr. Malburg's books on the subject matter. Great guy, very knowledgable. Strongly recommend classes from him if you are interested in Surface Finish metrology), in which case Calypso has a built in Robust filtering option for evaluating surface finish. It can be found in the Roughness characteristic filtering options
