Hello,

hopefully somebody of you has an idea. I buyed 2 new offline station and start now with the installation of Calypso 2023.
When i come already early in the Setup to the point of the SQL Database, i always get the Error that i have not enough privileges.

I run Windows 10 21H2 - Im administrator on the System with my login - i checked already on google and tried some solutions. 🙂

My login is added to:

Back up files and directories Properties
Manage auditing and security log
Debug programs Properties - (here i cant add my personal, but as im administrator it should be good to go)

I would really appriciate if somebody could hook me up.

Thanks in advance,

Yes, i tried it already with our IT and they logged on with the Local Administrator, but it was also not working.
To be honest i personally could imagine that it has something todo with, but nobody has an idea how to change that.

I found in the comments the Hint to start it from Command Line..

SQLEXPR_x64_ENU.exe /ACTION=Install /SkipRules=HasSecurityBackupAndDebugPrivilegesCheck

at least here he starts with the Installation, but cant finished.. 🙁

Local or domain admin? In our company some sensitive security settings are enforced by corporate IT and can't be overridden even by the local IT.

In the link I posted, he also shows how to look at the error details in the log. If it mentions the debug privilege as missing there, it seems to be mandatory.

I know how you feel. I had to deal with an uncooperative IT for many years. That guy has cost the company a lot of money and nerves. Luckily he's in retirement now.

It seems like you're encountering a privilege issue while trying to install Calypso 2023 on your Windows 10 system. This issue may be related to the permissions required for setting up the SQL database while doing https://www.globaldatabase.com/data-enrichment. Here are some steps you can follow to resolve this problem:

Run Installation as Administrator:

Right-click on the Calypso 2023 installation file.
Select "Run as administrator" to ensure that the installation process has elevated privileges.

User Account Control (UAC) Settings:

Check your User Account Control settings. Sometimes, even if you're an administrator, UAC might restrict certain actions. You can lower the UAC settings temporarily:
Type "UAC" in the Windows search bar and select "Change User Account Control settings."
Slide the bar down to a lower level and click "OK."
Restart your computer.

Check SQL Server Permissions:

Make sure your SQL Server has the necessary permissions for the installation. You should have administrative privileges for SQL Server.
You might need to grant your Windows user account the necessary permissions within SQL Server. This can be done through SQL Server Management Studio.

This is great info! Well done!

Your user definitely does not have adequate permissions. Your problem is local IT security settings and ZEISS SW Help Desk will not be able to do anything without those policies lifted. They will provide the same instruction as the KB provided. Follow the KB instructions provided. You and your IT tech should be able to resolve this quickly.
