[Da...]
If a CAD model was deleted from a measurement plan and then re-loaded, is there a way to tie the existing features previously generated to the newly loaded model? I'm hoping I can salvage all the time I spent programming.
[Mi...]
Did you mean this? New inserted part have different origin than in your program. See pictures. my solution - open new program - insert new model - create base alingment ( from same like original program ) - save CAD model - insert to your program
[Ri...]
I was working on a nice tutorial video for this, and then got sidetracked. Please sign in to view this quote.

[Ro...]
As a bilingual programmer (Calypso & PCDmis) i've said before the best tool in all of CMMdom is the PCDmis Binocular tool. If you go have an uprev you can load the new model in and open each feature individually and hit the binocular tool. the feature will snap to the nearest cad surface and all the XYZ and ABC nominals will update. With calypso the only thing we get is the comparison tool, which doesn't really do much except to turn a plane skin into a highlighted surface, but it does not update nominals. Comparison is handy because it lets you select surfaces for populating Characteristics, but to my experience i haven't found much use after that. I really do wish Calypso would simplify model transformation. to be able to select XY&Z surfaces and have the software move the model to the zero point would be awesome. Nothing is worse than transforming a model then spending 15 minutes trying to zero out very small amounts of A1 and A2 angles. Additionally, i wish i could drag and drop circles and lines and planes the same way we can drag and drop a point to a new location. That would speed up programming a series of similar parts or a part family.

[Da...]
Thanks Richard, that was exactly what I was looking for! Fortunately, I didn't have to worry about repositioning the model since the base alignment is the same as the model's default alignment. I feel your pain, Roberto. It would be extremely useful to have point and click cad model transformation tools instead of the very basic translation and rotation parameters. [Ro...]
Please sign in to view this quote. They already have 2 entries into My Voice about transforming models. Make sure you go vote on them as they are from 2021 and hove not got a lot of votes.gfklsdrt;khnjs;kg.PNG
[Je...]
Please sign in to view this quote. The option you are looking for is: CAD MODEL COMPARISON This will compare program features to CAD surfaces. It will report the delta between them and RE-LINK the feature to the CAD surface. You can set a warning limit for surfaces that may not correlate. This is also useful for a "rev change" that a new model was created for. This can be used to re-link all the features the program and verify which surfaces (so long as they were previously extracted) match the program features. The function may not always link all the features on the list on the first execution so you may have to select-execute several times.
