[Ma...]
Hi fellow colleagues, i have a part, where i have to measure many of them - so close areas - and i need to avoid collision with fixture. Imagine part shaped like inverted U with fixture magnet from +Y side. How to simply go from left cylinder to right cylinder using path +Y then +Z then move to +X and -Z? Now i am using move points, but i think there should be an easier way. If it would be with SG i would be glad, because not everytime i want to +Z Any ideas? Well i did not used that - i meant points in strategy - what i need is after measuring go +Y - now up +Z +X -Z to right position for measuring next part of feature. I am using this method for avoiding rails while measuring botom plane from -Z.

I guess I was suggesting that this may be a case where the Use Position Points Only option is warranted, but the risks and process have to be understood. And using T shaped probe ( 2. and 4. ) - clearance between parts and probes cca 20mm - so i can not increase clearance cube. But if it would be hard then i will change fixture - short on screw plates to make all needed fixtures.
[Ma...]
Are you scanning both cylinders in one feature? If so, couldn't you just add another clearance between the scans in your strategy?

It doesn't matter if it's in one or more features - i have to avoid that middle fixture - second part is too close for just increase clearance box. [Ma...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I may not be understanding correctly. I wasn't suggesting increasing the clearance box. I was saying maybe add another (or more) clearance move(s) in your strategy that would retract in the +Y move to +Z then to +X and to -Z to continue measuring. I use this frequently with a similar stylus configuration. Not sure that would work in your situation.
