Unable to delete directory

Has anyone come across a warning box pop up that says unable to delete directory when you try to run a program? I reorganized and renamed characteristics and now my program won’t run?!?!

That’s not the issue. No path settings were changed, the program ran fine until I renamed characteristics. Now when I try to start the program it wants to delete a directory that doesn’t exist within cmm_data and prevents the program run. I’m trying to understand why this is occurring from a simple name change and how to fix it without reprogramming.

I was told once that putting certain characters in the name could possibly cause problems. I was using @ instead of the word "at". I didn't have any trouble but changed it anyway.

John, I don't know the root cause of your problem, but I have a few ideas. I have also had problems related to acis plots but not exactly the same issue.

The folder that your error message is referring to is where Calypso temporarily saves graphical output, such as images from the CAD window, which it then transfers to a reporting destination(s) such as a pdf file or PiWeb. It's strange that Calypso is looking for this folder in a results folder and that it's trying to write to it at the beginning of the run. Typically, the temp/acis plots folder is in the measurement plan's folder.

A troubleshooting step that you could try would be to mask / shut off all plots and have only characteristics with numerical results populate. This would at least allow you to run the program. If you save measurement points, you could recall them via subsequent evaluations later after you have resolved the underlying issue.

I'd be interested to hear what the root cause to your problem is.

Oddly enough, it happened to be that this one CMM's path directory was not setup correctly. All I had to do was change to C:\CMM vs. C:CMM. At first, I didn't believe this was the issue due to the fact that the path was greyed out and Calypso wouldn't let me edit it. Secondly the program ran perfect prior to me editing the Characteristic name and rearranging the order. All is right in the world again. Sometimes the simplest things make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Great info, David! It looks like you solved the issue.

Remember to bill John's company directly. I believe a minimum consulting fee = 4 hours overtime pay 🤣
