Calypso Gear Pro training question???

Hello Everyone,
So the company I work for is looking into getting more Calypso and Gear Pro training. I am all on board and will never say no to it. According to my manager he was told we have to upgrade to Calypso and Gear Pro 2023. We currently use the 2019 versions. Is there any truth to this? Any info would be appreciated! Thank you!

I should add how much of a difference is there between 2019 and 2023 versions?
Thanks!

Lou,

you never HAVE to update to any version. In training they will likely be using the latest versions, so it may help you better understand if you are on the same version. You're absolutely fine to stay on 2019. They will likely push the fact that 2019 may no longer be "supported" in case you have any issues.

If you do have an SMA and CAN upgrade, I would say to at least test 2022 on your most popular programs, and consider upgrading just to stay up to date /recent.

Good luck, let us know if you have more concerns.

Hello!

I am coordinating the training effort at ZEISS for the most part, and can definitely help, as Jeff alluded to!

GearPro is taught onsite at the customer facility (unless that is not possible, we can make arrangements for a one-on-one class at a ZEISS facility, but that is an exception to the rule).

If you are needing GearPro training, please email me at ryan.stauffer@zeiss.com , and I can hook you up with your Aftermarket Salesperson to get a quotation. Once we receive an order, I will be in touch with you directly to land on a week for training where we have a Gear Expert available that fits your schedule.

Please also let me know if you need INVOLUTE, BEVEL, or BOTH modules taught. Each module is two days of training. Note that all students must have CALYPSO skills (can confidently use the software to create features, characteristics, make alignments, etc), and if you plan on using a Rotary Table with GearPro, the students already have knowledge on basic use of the RT.
