[Ri...]
Has anyone installed Calypso on a virtual machine? I am getting a new Contura and v2023 soon. I have to be capable of using older versions as far back as 2015, I'm thinking of installing these on a virtual machine and looking for Pros/Cons. One con I was told was loosing screen size, is this true?
[Ma...]
I would like to know how USB dongle would behave. But i think you will lose substancial performance - not sure how GC will be used.
[Mi...]
We did it with Version 4 very temporarily while waiting for a purchase to get finalized. It only lasted a couple weeks. It worked - but Licensing on the older versions was so different than it is now I have some real doubts that it would work (And wouldn't violate EULA). Don't forget there is both PC-Based Licensing and Dongle based - Dongle might work but I bet PC Based wouldn't.
[Je...]
CALYPSO nor the ZEISS licensing systems are supported in use of a virtual machine environment. Furthermore, this is a violation of the user agreement in CALYPSO.
[Ju...]
What's the difference between a virtual machine and Planner?
[Mi...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Hey the EULA is really long.... could you point me to the part of it that says this. I've tried looking and failed. I'm currently fighting my IT department wanting to use Virtual Machines.
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Planner and a Virtual machine are two separate entities. A Virtual Machine is referring to the PC, creating a separate instance of Windows.
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. To me "Machine" means "PC" (It's an Ohio thing). So a Virtual Machine is a Virtual Operating system on the same PC. Does this fall under the same user agreement terms?
[Je...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I do not know the particular section of the EULA that references this but I was told from our colleagues in Germany that this is the case as this is definitely not the first time this request has come up. Additionally, ACIS/VWNT kernels will not operate properly in a Virtual Machine Environment and even in the slim chance the PC was capable of supporting ACIS in a VME enough to open, the background processing would be unstable at best. The license acquisition and utilization engine will not operate properly in an VME either.
