Updating Software

I'm currently on 2020...

I was planning on updating to 2022 - unless most of the major bugs have been worked out of 2023? (thoughts please)

Since it has been a few years... what diles should I backup/safeguard prior to installation?

I'm considering loading 2022 in parallel with 2020... what are the real benefits of this? I will have the latest software (2022) on all 3 of my machines.

aaaand anything else 🙂

Thanks!

Transparent CAD models - new to 2023

For my core tasks, and for programming in general, this has been a game-changer.

I'm still running V6.4.14 (04.05.2018) on a Contura and V6.4.0802 (30.01.2018) on a Prismo. 😱

If I wanted to upgrade, would I encounter other problems because of this?

Interesting. I don't doubt what you're saying. Several months ago I had a problem
with Calypso and ended up getting help from a Zeiss application engineer. He ended
up uninstalling / reinstalling Calypso and only backed up PCF files and the config folder?

99% of the info you need would be there for 99% of users. Sometimes custom ini files or configuration xml files are in other directories. Its just safer to get the whole set so you aren't scratching your head as to why your PiWeb K-fields or characteristic attributes aren't working any more.
