Is there away to turn off tones (sounds) within Calypso?
I've been running with out speakers for a few years now, and now I have to use a speaker.
Calypso is banging this one multi tone sound when the program does things and when it ends.
Its annoying.
ANNOYING
aNNoyING

If you're talking about probing beeps, that's under Settings>CMM>Probe. Anything else, I think you would have to mute the application in the Windows volume mixer.

It appears the "ANNoyING" sound is a System sound being activated by Calypso and not a Calypso sound.

This is where I change the sounds the machine I operate makes. I would think that if you altered the file name of the sound file being used, it wouldn't make any sound. (i.e. change probe.wav to prob.wav)

C:\Program Files (x86)\Zeiss\CALYPSO 6.4\sounds

I tested it, and it just makes another sound if the file is renamed. You could find a wav file of recorded silence and set that as your probe tone.

Rick,

Try going to Extras -> Settings -> CMM and then open the "Probe" tab. There are two checkboxes under "Upon Probing," try unchecking the "PC Acoustic Signal" box and see if that stops the Windows sound. I had this issue a while ago. You might need to uncheck both boxes.

This is the name of the sound file that Calypso is using.

Also known as "Asterisk".
Calypso will run this sound file like its the coolest sound in the known universe.
Its annoying hearing it bang away in the background, literally hundreds of times.
And its a "TrustedInstaller file", now I have to find out how to disable or rename the file.

It would be pretty cool to turn sound of for CNC runs. When probing manually the sound is helpful.

When both checkboxes are disabled, there´s a probing sound on windows when probing manually. But it has a long delay and is not that helpful. The beep from the control panel is perfect.
