[Si...]
Hi, I need to build an angle probe facing the Y+ direction.. Questions I have are, Do I call it the 1 Probe or 2? Do I set the Cal Spere up as normal angle with the default Zeiss stand setup, place in the 3 o'clock position and calibrate normally? This would be the 1st time using Angle Fixed Probes ( Vast XT Gold ) .
[Ke...]
For naming, you can call the probe whatever you would like (just dont use any special character/symbols), the Zeiss standard would be 1 is -Z (down), 2 is +Y, 3 is +X, 4 is -Y, 5 is -X, and 6 is +Z, but this is just convention and not a mandate. As for the calibration sphere angle, as long as it is oriented in such a way that the probe can get 180 degrees of coverage you should be fine (you could technically reduce the coverage if needed, but since you have the option the full 180 is best), unless you need the Dynamic Tensor qualification, which requires the sphere to be oriented so that the probe can make a full 360 sweep of the sphere in one direction. People often find it easiest to set their sphere in the default tilt, and use one of the preset rotation angles, as that way you can just click the icon when it asks for the angle settings of the sphere during the sphere location step(setting 2, 135, 135, like selected in the below picture would work well)
[Si...]
Thanks. I typically use setting one as my default orientaion with the default auto settings. I will use what is imaged with 2. Thanks.
[Ke...]
If I am not misunderstanding what you are describing, setting 1 would work as well, if that is how you usually have your sphere
