Pattern inside a pattern ?

I seem to remember a job where I made a point, (a single point on a feature) then used pattern to make 5 more points as a scallop, and then did a 1D linear pattern, of the scalloped pattern and made a row of the 5-point scallop.

In other words, I made a pattern out of another pattern.

Now it doesn't seem to work. Was I dreaming?? 😕 😕

You can do it if you recall your feature points from your patterned feature into a new feature and add a new pattern, I think.

Marc, I tried that, it's not working the way I would like it to. I don't want to recall the points into a feature, because it will impose algorithms...I think. I want them at single points.

Dane, I tried using groups, and while it gave the option of using pattern on the group, it seems like it's not executing that function.

I can't believe this hasn't come up before, but searching the forum yielded no real information.
