ZEISS CALYPSO 2023 - Expanded GDT - ASME + ISO

Has everyone seen and/or tried the new GD&T functionality in CALYPSO 2023? If you are currently using CY23 (Service Pack 1 released 6/28/23 btw) then I advise viewing the US KB link for an example on how to enable the full suite of new tools;
https://portal.zeiss.com/knowledge-base?id=2022494

A video demo is available of the tools as well but does not go into detail on how to enable the GD&T Beta trial specifically.

This added functionality was implemented with the US customer base in mind specifically for ASME applications. I am requesting our users test the ASME application and report back any feedback here (this post or the sticky post) for direct review by our development teams. Your feedback is highly encouraged and very much appreciated.

The added/improved functionality of datum shift for MMC in 3 space axes is worth the move to CY23 on its own.

A lot of great things about 2023, but I have some serious performance issues and DotNET issues (crashes after 5-10 runs).

I haven't installed the latest SP yet though.

Richard,

I will always advise installing the latest SP before digging too deep into any problems. Afterwards, if you are seeing performance issues with CY23, please contact CIC - SW Help Desk to troubleshoot and assess. We have seen sporadic DotNET issues with non-supported versions of Windows specifically. I cannot recall any with supported Windows LTSB/LTSC versions but that does not mean there aren't any or that I haven't seen them personally.

I know you do quite a bit of contract programming/inspection. Have you tried new the GD&T options available in the BETA option yet?

Yeah. I'm installing as we speak, and I will report to CIC if it continues.

Yep - used it already on some demos and contract inspection that would have been impossible without it. Datum Shift is glorious.

Previous links were to the US Knowledge Base. US Knowledge Base is available to US region customers only. If you wish to gain access, I advise contacting your ZEISS RSM and requesting access to the "ZEISS PORTAL US KNOWLEDGE BASE".

Two things I just ran into today:

1) In the latest Service Pack (7.6.04) you can no longer use a Free-Form Surface to evaluate a Surface Profile - I don't believe this was intended.

2) I might just not be able to find it, but neither Surface or Line Profile allow you to change the shape of the tolerance zone, so everything is by default a bilateral tolerance zone.

*Bonus* - You can now select other features to perform a Line Profile - so in some cases, Curve may not be required!

I believe the Surface Profile as it applies to a FreeForm is still in development and wasn't complete in time for CY23 release. I am nearly certain that it was left out intentionally, for now.
