[Ja...]
So last month we had our Zeiss calibration. We have two Conturas next to one another. When the calibrator was done, he released it to me. I changed the probes to start qualifications. I heard the XXT head click while in the rack and then when it moved out, it did a double click. I had never heard this click before so i turned quick thinking something was going to happen. The tech looked at me like i was nuts but asked what was wrong. I told him i have never heard any of our Zeiss cmms make that double click before. He assured me it was normal. I stated it isn't and none of our other cmms do that. I proceeded to show them the other Contura and it did it's normal probe change and clicks. He then agreed that it was odd. He couldn't determine what the difference was. Fast forward to today, i figured out what the double click is but I don't know how to correct it. I was working on the cmm and bumped the probe with my hand and it fell off. I have bumped them before and have never had them fall off. So I inspected the ruby and put it back on. Being questioning of how easily it seemed to come off, after i put it back on, I pulled it back off. Being I hadn't recoupled the probe this wasn't surprising. However, once I recoupled it by connecting manually, I checked it again and it came right off. Again thinking this wasn't normal, I checked our other contura that is right next to it. That one is locked in. So with this, to me, it appears that something got changed with the probe locking and the double click is seeming like it is locking then re releasing but then operating like it is normal. Any ideas on how I can address this or do I have to have a Zeiss Tech come back and fix it?
