start single feature

If I have a feature selected when I hit run, the start window says "start single feature" and has a picture of the feature instead of a CMM machine. Will this do the same thing as right clicking on a feature and execute, or will it go through the alignment first? I can't find anything on this in the user guide.

Calypso will run either All Characteristics or Current Selection (selected characteristics), as it normally would. It will only go through the alignment if clear existing results is checked.

Then what purpose does this start single feature have?

I'm guessing it's too complicated to correct the graphic for when a measurement plan is started while on the features list.
