[Ty...]
I tried using the cmm position strategy and it goes to where i tell then proceeds to go up and over the part, the Cp is set to Y+ and im using Y- star stylus system. Any idea on how to probe both sides of the slot?Slot.JPG
[Ju...]
Sounds like some edges might be blocked. Plan > Navigation > Block Edges If that looks OK, next I would verify the retract distance on those features.
[Br...]
Check your clearance distance. It might be too far and causing a collision
[Ty...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Block edges looked fine, i had to put the retract distance pretty low for it to work. Thank you!
[To...]
Also, try using a +Z clearance plane. Probably won't need position points but the image is not clear and don't know your exact probe configuration.
[Ma...]
Well - for upper plane check if it is -Z direction CP +Y, probe -Y safe distance to ZERO retract distance to more then R of probe - for lower plane check if it is +Z direction CP -Y, probe +Y safe distance to ZERO retract distance to more then R of probe If you can not clearly approach further points, then consider polyline, where your start and end will be closer to CP - otherwise you have to use position points - CAREFULLY Other solution would be custom angled probe from +X direction. [Ri...]
That's an internal slot wall plane that is at an angle. You cannot get safely in and out of the feature without either starting and ending at the very beginning of the wall, or using position points. In 2022 and beyond, they added the option to approach via the stylus direction which would alleviate your issue.
