ProMax Installation

Does anyone have any quick guide installation for a ProMax? We got a new O-Inspect machine, but the ProMax was on back order so the technician couldn't install it on site at the time of installing the O-Inspect. ProMax came in and looking to try to install it my self so not having to tack on another 5k for a technician to just possibly plug in some cables.

We HAD a ProMax on both of our old portal machines, but they're gone now and we didn't install them ourselves.
So I can only tell you it's probably plugged "somewhere" inside the controller. Did it come with any user guide or installation manual? When we got our "big" ProMax, it included a wiring diagram, but that was 20 years ago when it was still built by a 3rd party company., and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the schematics here. After all your O-Inspect may be wired differently.

But: when we got our new Conturas recently, the documentation on a USB stick also included a PDF with a lot of wiring diagrams. If you haven't got something like this for your machine, check the documents section in the portal download area. The file name starts with "EPLAN...." Maybe it includes valuable information (UPDATE: It does! Just search the document for "ProMax"")

By the way, with our ProMax it wasn't sufficient to just plug in some cables. It also needed a software macro in the controller, which synchronized its movement with Calypso's stylus change calls. Problem was, by default the macro wasn't present in the macro directory on the controller on non-ProMax machines. You needed to copy it from another directory first. Fun fact: Some years ago, when the controller CPU on our old Contura needed to be replaced, the Zeiss tech couldn't get the ProMax to work with the new one. After some desperate but obviously fruitless phone calls with his colleagues I told him he needed to copy the macro first. 🤣
