I cant seem to find a definitive answer.

when building your true position datum reference frame in characteristics. use ABC if the print calls it out that way.
I have seen another programmer always default to base alignment rather than build it out. and it gives correct nominal. ( i see this as wrong)
I've seen another programmer besides that one use a secondary alignment in the true position rather than build the feature.

and i have tested and got different results on all of them.

i think building the datum's out is the right way. am I wrong

Seeing that you're using MMB on Datum B, I would agree with you. There are still a few more things to consider regarding using the datum features, i.e. Outer Tangential Element and Constraint per ISO 5459.

I personally set it up to use iso 5459 and outer tangential

the MMB there was a test on my end for a cpk I was doing.
normally it wouldn't have MMB on that datum

You can make a secondary alignment equivalent to using datum features with OTE and ISO 5459 but it is more work, in my opinion. Having the system automatically apply OTE and ISO5459 to my datum features in a no-brainer to me.
