[Ja...]
Hello, When the CMM changes probe from the rack it picks up the probe but then it puts it back. It does about 3 time and I get the pop up window saying "Please insert stylus system - roller contacts are still open!" Does anyone know what is going on and now to resolve it? (I cleaned the contact surface. It worked. Now It doesn't pick up the probe at all)Capture.PNG

What kind of head are you working with? sounds like its just a bad pickup try manually inserting the probe in the head and having the machine put it away then pick it back up with the machine
[Da...]
Does it just do it with the one probe or does it do it with them all?
[Er...]
I am now getting the same error on our Duramax CMM. Probe is inserted. It recognizes a probe is there, becuase the machine will let you move it around in X, Y, and Z directions like normal, but I get the error saying: "insert stylus system. Contacts are still open." I will probably have to call Zeiss on Monday.
[No...]
On a VAST plate clean these three cylinders and make sure they're not corroded or anything. Also check/clean the three pairs of balls in the head. The same goes basically for an XXT head, but the geometry is different of course. If this doesn't cure the problem, check the plate for deformation (one drop to the floor can be enough). It's unlikely, as it's a 3-point contact, but a deformed plate might prevent one of the contacts from closing.
[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I ran into a situation where there was a metal chip stuck on the magnet that prevent a solid connection.
[Br...]
If using an XXT head, look really closely around the edge of the magnet, even the smallest chip in the groove can pop that error.
[Je...]
Clean sensor and plate VERY well. This is a condition that the plate has not seated properly or has not sensed that it is seated properly. If all is clean and happens with all plates then the sensor is faulty. If it is only a single plate, it is likely bent/distorted and should be replaced.
