Calypso 7.2 Freeform Problem

The most serious problem for us is the use of best fit alignment with the free form tool, the software calculates it, but does not show a value in the characteristic menu.
It also has slow graphics processing.
Another thing that doesn't work correctly is the CAD graphic manipulation tools.
For example when selecting an element it does not highlight in CAD.
It also doesn't apply custom cad settings.

After you open the alignment characteristic check the default printout. It should be there. Also if you go into the free form feature hit evaluation then create alignment it might be there too.

Yeah there's no fixing or improving that. That's just what Calypso does. The patch notes for 7.2 states "The user interface for free-form measurement was optimized." but I think the word optimized means something different in German. 😉

Yeah that's normal too. Sometimes redrawing the cad model will fix some of it.

You have to watch it with the "Display Quality" setting as well with free form features. I think if you're using the Gauss (not Gauss using CAD surfaces) or Chebyshev best fit options it will evaluate your points back to the display model's geometry and not the geometry of the actual model you've imported. But I'm sure it's all explicitly spelled out somewhere how all that works so I'm sure someone could correct me on that if I'm wrong. It's not like they would add and change all these things without providing any documentation on it.
