Reference sphere management - Shaft Radius

Entering all the data for a new 8.0mm reference sphere. The shaft radius is 1.5. The sphere
position is 135/180 (Up at 45° facing X+). When the X+ stylus starts its qualification, I get an
SDO error. I had to increase the radius to 1.7 for it to work. Why is this. Makes no sense.

For us it works with 1.5mm radius and in all positions of the reference sphere.

Might it have anything to do with the stylus Ø? The one in question is 1.5mm.

I don't have an answer, but I generally increase the shaft radius value, this is due to placing the Reference Sphere and it may not be exactly at the described angles of XY rotation.
This allows for that error to prevent incidental collisions.
