[Sa...]
I am a newer user and currently using Calypso 2022. I know we have had 3 or 4 previous versions before this one. I am not sure if the data was transferred from version to version in the past. I am trying to figure out the best way to make sure that I have all the data in one place, so I don't have to keep going back through all those folders to try and find an inspection report that was done in a previous version? I thought about creating a "combined" folder and creating subfolders in there and then copy/paste the data to that folder but not sure if there is a better way?calypso screenshot.png
[Mi...]
Do you mean machine configuration data? Calypso Settings? Measurement results? Different answers for different questions.
[Sa...]
I am more concerned about measurement plans, results, etc. Items in the workarea folders.
[DW...]
I am not sure I understand your question but you may not need to "combine" data from previous versions. I am guessing because there have been multiple version upgrades installed that whoever did that would have installed them correctly by copying certain folders into the new versions as they went. If you are wondering where all of your CMM programs are the default location would be "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO\workarea\inspections". Unless someone started saving programs in different locations, they should be saved in the default CALYPSO folder which does not change as you upgrade to newer versions. [Sa...]
I think my problem is that when previous upgrades have happened, they changed the location of the inspections to be within the version specific folders and not the one Calypso folder. So some are in 6.6, some in 7.2 and now some in 7.4. I was trying to figure out a way to get them in one folder so I don't have to keep going to each of these versions folders just to look for inspections. [Ri...]
For each version installed: 1. Go to menu item, Extras. 2. Settings. 3. Environment. 4. Paths (You cant have any programs open). 5. Set "Default Path for measurement Plans" to the same directory structure: example: Please sign in to view this quote.

OP how many file paths are we talking about here? Can you manually copy/paste everything from each version of Calypso into the default path? I think that was your plan initially and it might just be faster than anything else.
[Ma...]
You can copy existing programs to one common folder. If you have only one Calypso installed ( 7.4 as you mentioned ) then it won't be a problem. Don't forget to copy basesystem folder. If you are using changed PiWeb protocols, then you have to look deeper for it. Other folders are not necessary.
[Sa...]
I was going to initially just copy and paste everything into one folder and then delete all the older folders. I think I have 5 folders total from all the previous and current versions. I still currently have 7.2 installed along with using 7.4 until I get everything squared away then I am deleting the older version so we only have one installed. I will have to try it and see, hopefully I won't run into too many issues. Thanks for all the information.
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I have three installations, I have no problem opening a program from any version. My suggestion is a global setting.
