I get prints all of the time with a call out of profile to a single datum and Calypso tells me " Evaluation of characteristic not possible". Right now I have been adding datums to further restrict the callout and it calculates but I dont think I should have to add to the reference frame to get profile. I had a part, where i had to report surface profile without datum - somehow i could not use profile without alignment, so i used cylinder instead - it was giving way worse results. You need to check the Default Printout to see if it performed a Best Fit or not. Sometimes it just defaults back to the Base Alignment or does what it wants to do.
