[Ri...]
1. How do I set the Nominals? (I change them, Curve changes them back. The data is recalled from a 2d line) 2. Can I export the point data to a text file? 3. See attached image. This is licensing for Curve? I can't use FreeForm. I need to use Profile of a Line and it seems Calypso has locked that to Curve.Capture.JPG
[Ma...]
1. i don't understand your question 2. just right click on curve to save points - you can choose format and if you want nominals or measured - can not have both 3. question for customer/sales Fo basic +/- tolerance of curve you can simply use Form evaluation - you have to lock everything ( x,y,z, vector ... ) then it can be used as line/surface profile
[Ri...]
Item 2 should have been: 2. Can I export the 2d Line point data to a text file?
[Ma...]
I am not at Calypso now, so if you right click on 2D line is there context menu with save points? If not, then create 2d curve, recalculate and recall measured points from 2d line, then you can save points from context menu.
[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Use 3d Curve. 2d Curve gives you the following error.Screenshot 2023-03-06 095659.jpg
[Ri...]
3D Curve seems to remove "Stylus Radius Compensation", which makes the nominal Value incorrect. 🙄
[To...]
I seem to recall running into something like that before but didn't have to resolve it.
[Ri...]
I figured it out. Don't recall from a feature. Create a section thru CAD menu, then select a 3D Curve.
[To...]
I know you figured it out but to answer your original post asking about taking points from a line. Do not use recall feature points. I don't have Calypso open so I may not be using the right terms. If you're using a line, you want to export the points (Right click on Feature, select Export Points. Select Nominals and Vectors, Surface points, etc. Save. In 3d Curve, read from points file.
[Ma...]
If all you needed was curve instead of 2D line to be measured, then you can go as you wrote ( CAD, select line and make a 3D curve ), or you can create new 3d curve, clear measured points from 2d line and recall points from 2d line. When you recalling points, then it makes nominals from measured data - if they are not present, then it make nominals from strategy of feature. [Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Its been a while since I've had to use Curve, and it took me a while to remember how to use Curve. I have removed the 2d Lines and now only using a 3D Curve. Thanks for all the input!
