[Sa...]
Good afternoon everybody. I´m concernd about our Prismo Ultra with a Vast Gold Probehead. I´ve been working with this Maschine for over a Year now (since I finished my apprenticeship basiclly). The Maschine has been in our Company since 2011 and my former colleague told me the Probehead has never been replaced. I never had any issues with this Maschine (and never had any hard crashes) but lately I noticed some things. For example, when I tried to add other Stylussystems, most of the time the Probehead didn´t recognize the ID and showed random Stylussystems. I dismissed it at first but now this happend: While automaticlly switching Systems, this errormessage pops up. Is the Probehead going bad or is something else going on? 😕Cross upper limiting taration.doc
[Ch...]
Probably probe head going bad. But first, try this one trick first. Pickup your heaviest probe and see if this fixes the issue. Even add counterweights to get the probe near the weight limit. The theory is that over time the mechanics inside the probe head get shifted towards the upper limit. Especially if you mostly pickup smaller probes. The heavier probe will bring the mechanics inside the probe head back away from the upper taration limit. If you're lucky, this fixes your issue. [Ri...]
How heavy is your stylus system, and how out of balance is it?
[No...]
Let's hope it's only the stylus weight, but whenever I saw this message come up, the head (VAST XT) was close to going bad. Sometimes it took weeks, sometimes days, but it always happened in the end. And we had to replace quite a number of heads in 20 years. Good luck!
