Skewed lines on gear inspection.

Hello everyone,
So I have been inspecting a set of gear coupler. And have been getting some lines that are horribly skewed. I am inspection these vertically on a RT. I have also tried using different probes at different lengths. I thought maybe I am catching the edge of the tooth. But I am not. Is there something I am missing.

Thanks,
Lou

Lou,

wow definetly some error going on there. They do appear mostly uniformly skewed - if that makes any sense.

So there is a chance most of this is accurate results.

If you can send a program or drwaing I can review further. Is this a ground internal/external gear? or perhap a spline ?

Hi,
How does the Lead looks a like?
I would move evaluation range to smaller one, maybe there is some pattern. If so, it could be bad gears/splines, not your measurement 🙂
